Letra de Ballad of William Roy
Summertime visiting dropped in one evening
On Cousin William, he and his wife
And we all went driving down by the river camps
Winding through party lights, Dogtown way
I had never gone past the bridge where darkness abounds
And we decided to turn around, but it was hard to slow down
Weren't too sure of blind curves
I took my leave of them, drove back to the North
and they to celeberate their anniversary
All day they traveled
Finally at the beach, but could not see
The current was too strong that day
She couldn't swim back to shore
He tried to help and there he joined her
Then a stranger pulled her in but could not rescue William
And the ocean it took him away
Left his wife a widow at 23
Stranded all alone with no way to get back home
She could never really go back home
William Roy knew the dark side of men
And he faced it with a grin
Paid no mind to money hell or heaven, knelt down to family and the orphaned
William oh William
I will always love him
He was my blood and kin
Who took me in and promised never to tell on me
