Winter Coat Letra

and then I left it right there
cuz I thought it must be about

I heard two people complain about the weather today
I guess even spring colours mixed all together make a grey
so I put a just a little yellow on my brush
and then I paint those highlights, with a gentle touch
well I learned that one from you

people tell me you've got yourself a lovely day for a drive
and then I see all that beauty I can never touch from the inside
and as I watch another day fly by
I just lose myself
I lose all sense of time
that must be how I lost you

winter's gone and my shoes are showing off all my toes
I clean my closet to make room for that old winter coat
I found that dress that's too long and tight
it never fit me
but it fit you just right
