we are driving into vistas of bright uncertainty
armed with nothing but our thoughts
and some lines of poetry

aiko and i
we are dancing in the dark
her world and my world together yet centuries apart
another full moon rising unfolding magically
entwining in the twilight
with some lines of melody

she knows exactly who she is and where she wants to be
in the land of tokyo she grew up in certainty
and everyone around her had the same dark eyes
dark hair yellow skin white teeth closed smiles
thoughts of race and origin are not what she has sought
just a movement forward into color sound and thought

aiko and i
we are swimming by the shore
everything is different yet everything is like it was before
we are turning into silence much wider than the sea
with nothing but the past
burned into our memories

aiko and i
waiting for the night to come
morning will be different
sun will break into a better song
warming with it's fire - lines of flame will flicker openly
lines will be forgotten
in the greater harmony
