Gonna have a night on the town
But I'm stuck up here
Thinking 'bout what Rapunzel said
And I want to be down there
But I hear Rapunzel shaved her head
And that leaves me up here
With no one but my books
To take me elsewhere
I guess I'll have to set my look on later days
When all of my spent time has been repaid.

It's a ninth-story Saturday
And I wish that I could come out and play
But I can't, I'm stuck here in the rain
Doing time for a later day.

And I'm thinking of you
Wondering how things are at home
And I'm dreaming of your smile
As I sit here all alone
And I hope you're happy
And sharing that sweet smile
With everybody there
As I miss you all the while
But I'm coming home soon
Wearing triumph on my face
