Letra de Cups Of Coffee
How many cups of coffee has it been
Since I waved goodbye through that foggy window?
My headlights cutting through the frozen, Indiana dusk
Feeling in the night for something far more real
Than the tragedies of these hours past
The highway lines floating by in a slow-motion instant replay
Of another night in another life
When I last felt this way
On a red-eye drive just me and the highway

I'll take another cup of coffee for the road
I didn't used to drink this stuff until you got me going on it
It warms my fingers as they wrap around the cup
Holding onto something anything that makes you real
And takes me back to when everything made sense
When we were meant to be; words not spoken, hearts not broken
And the things that we had yet to see
Believing all the time that love and hope were all we'd ever need

But I don't know if I'll be coming back this time
And I don't know exactly where I'm going
All I know is I've left the greatest thing I've ever known
And I don't know if I'll be coming home

So here I am seeking refuge in the prose
I'm locking up my troubles in these rhyming lines and rolled-down windows
Maybe someday I will find your door
And if you let me in again, then we'll know it's never gonna end
But now I'm holding just my words
The highway's calling out for me
It's gonna show me all the things I've got to see
So when I'm gone I won't look back
I wish you all the best, you know
And maybe we'll meet somewhere down the road
And I don't know if I'll be coming back this time
And I don't know exactly where I'm going
All I know is I've left the greatest thing I've ever known
And I don't know if I'll be coming home
