Letra de Joel Found His Angel Cowering in the Garden
Joel found his angel cowering in the garden—a pathetic ball of shivering feathers.
“Fuck me,” he mumbled, disgusted with the possibility now realized. Out came the shovel. It sat and watched as the stars hummed back a melody to the rhythm of digging, of removing earth to make room for the impossible. The ground was hard and he had to break past the frost and frozen layers. He figured he'd have to break the wings to get them in, to get it to fit. This, however, was not without a struggle. Joel approached, throwing his shadow upon the angel that balled itself tightly and lowered its eyes like a dog.
“Come on, get in.”
Nothing doing. Only stared out from under itself, wrapping its wings around the shoulders to the chest.
“Get in,” Joel repeated, same pitch, same determination, same mission.
The backyard was dark but Joel's eyes were dilated from adrenaline and his eyes were sharp, sharp enough to notice what the angel had clutched in its fist.
“What you doing with that?” Joel's voice quivered and broke, now on the defensive. Slowly and with calculated determination, he shifted position, came up strong and stood awkwardly and broken in front of Joel, both like statues in the garden, casting out long shadows from the light of distant stars. Its eyes still cast down, down towards the pit Joel had dug—a pit that now seemed he dug for himself.
