To do some contemplating
To wonder if this road
And its current direction
Favour the possibility
Of a future intersection
Telephone poles pass by
At regular intervals
Marking the time
At a downbeat tempo
Roll the windows down
To hear the music of the countryside
Content with the knowledge
That i'm just along for the ride
Am i wasting my time
Reaching for a vapor I cant grasp?
Because lately I've been feeling
That I Am not equal to the task
Maybe it won't be long
Until we can drive out from beneath these clouds
Maybe just a few miles more
And the sun will come shooting out
With rays pouring down
To illuminate the landscape
For miles around
As we make our escape
