Letra de Operator Told Me I'm Fine
I spent a long time on the fence. I spoke in riddles in a vague future tense, my words plumped and fit to dispense. I was a leader to some but it made no difference because those words chartered my defeat on the day when i broke ground on concrete and slipped shoes on over my feet. All those things i once said, I knew I would never repeat.

I spent a long time on the train until it halted near SW 6th & Main. A crowd in unison was chanting a refrain. They were filling the road and they were screaming in vain. So I let go of my fear. I stepped out in the street and I took up the rear, and in a voice that no one could hear, I joined the chorus of those awaiting times we are still nowhere near.

"We're not bound to the things that we've read by needle and thread like other people's acupuncture. We don't need grape jam on our bread." Condiments at a time like this? That strikes me as so filthy and extraneous. "Are we not starving? We are, we are." I'm dreaming of what's outside my door from my carpeted floor, but something's trapped me at this juncture. The heater rumble helps me ignore the evidence that documents that we're still lonely. It's no secret, we know. We know. We know we are.

I spent a long time on the line through baited minutes otherwise that were mine. Operator told me I'm fine, and that's a saviour to some. Too bad I wasn't the kind who could take those words as relief. With my hands tied I watched numb as the thief left my house whistling "Hail to the Chief." On one hand we have fists, on one hand we have only belief.
