Morning Person
I am not a morning person, for one reason or anotherEven if I've got my six or eight I still like to lay in bedJust a little longer, after waking up I like to stretchAnd know that I can stay there if I want toBut today we woke up earlyWe heard something outsidePut on robes and big down bootiesAnd went toppling down the stairsIt was foggy, thick like cotton candyStreets deserted, parking placesAll around the startling thunderous piercing soundsOf nothingAll shut down and put away, it's a holidayWe're right here in the city on our front porchAnd all we hear are birds todayI am not a rural personI grew up on sidewalks and drivewaysAnd later on in life I livedIn many urban areasIt's not that I'm crazy about traffic jams or overcrowdingOr stress or noise or lines or locking cars or voice mailLetras de cancionesI just like to feel the pulse, to know that I can have someEven if I rarely grab some I still like to know I canSo we jumped in the car still wearing our pajamasDrove down to where the land endsAnd where more birds beginThere were pigeons, ducks and crows and seagullsVying for cold white bread crumbsDoing all their dances, raising heavenIn different voicesIt was strange and beautiful, crisp lettuce airAnd somehow peacefulWe just sat there in the car, and finallyI even turned the engine offAnd there it was again, that noise.Of nothing, nil but natureIt was big and wide, and slow and clearAnd all around and shhThe little voice inside my head was vying for brain bread crumbsBut sometimes you have to lose your mindTo come to your sensesI am not a morning personI'm a nighthawk, busy flyingBut I do enjoy the morningIf I should happen to wobble into itAnd if you put me in the countryJust don't tell me we're in the middle of nowhereSay we're on the outskirts of everywhereAnd I'll be fineAnd if it's dark, tell me to look up at the skyThat the stars are the campfires of our ancestorsAnd remind me, don't just do somethingSit there From Letras Mania
