It's Just Me
When I came home from the war You just woke up from a nap I wish that you were watching me I wrote this song from the bottom of the sea It's just me I throw down my arms I'm sorry It's just me And I've been writing things down I've been making speeches in my head Don't try to hide the world from me Cause telescopes reveal your secrets It's just me Let go of my arms I'm sorry It's just me... {At this point of the song, we have a “break-down”. This “break – down” is great. I'll tell you why. It's very musically ironic, you see. It sounds kind of bright and cheery, in a classical music kind of way. But it also has some minor notes thrown in there that give it drunken feel. Kind of like...ahh...a drunken clown in a hospital. Nice use of leading tones and such. Cross between Rivers Cuomo, Johnny Greenwood, and a Christmas Carol. Nicely done guys. My compliments to “the chef”.
