Erin Milligan Band
Ball In Hand
I start my drive crawling forward
four wheels down rolling over
streets where you would chase me down those streets
and imaginations painted worlds when the sun came up until it twirled into the sea
just out of reach
this one's for my own vindication
your private conversations
break through my design
laughs and smiles don't belong in this room
I sent them off to see you
sometimes I miss them too
but not today
the sun was long and we held on
never worried, never wrong
our grass scratched backs
against the field
where summers wasted and fates unsealed
we must have gone wrong somewhere
when you lost it was when it got bad
"but how can we grow up and keep everything we had?"
your screaming made me hide my face
Letras de cancionesbut your silence made me lose my pace with this world
your not that girl
summers over, and how much older are we?
the field's grown over and over and over the moment stays in repeat and it plays in places where we weren't lonely you said if only
time could stop but it flew by and then you told me
you still cry 'cause of what you said so many times
that "adults are just children who've died"
this one's for the big punctuation
these silent exclamations
break through my design
folded pages don't belong in this room
I sent them off to see you
sometimes I miss them too
but not today
and now I'm here without much hope, composing a ballad of single notes but they're always decending and down they go to brilliant endings that steal the show
and minor comforts bring major problems
and I can't solve them so I let them go
just like I let you go
this one's for our last confrontation
your quiet declarations
break through my design
Lost intentions
don't belong in this room
I'll send them off to see you
sure I'll miss them too
but not today
