Learning To Fly
I locked my heart away behind stone walls I’m sick of the fights, and all the shouting and the phone calls. I’m scared to love, it keeps me running away You see the damage is done now the love’s gone But these scars will stay. You see they’re a reminder not to play with fire, But I’ll never learn, cos I keep on getting burned. Cos I love the challenge, and I’m drawn to the fight Like a moth to the flame I keep following the light And I know where I’m going, and I think I know why But I just keep on falling cos I’m still learning to fly I dropped my guard for you, I wasn’t thinking. I’d fallen in love, in your eyes, I was sinking If only you knew, if only you knew what storm was coming Maybe you might not of stopped me from running I guess I’m a reminder not to play with fire But I’ll never learn cos I keep on getting burned Cos I love the challenge, and I’m drawn to the fight Like a moth to the flame I keep following the light And I know where I’m going, and I think I know why But I just keep on falling cos I’m still learning to fly I dropped my guard for you, I wasn’t thinking.
