It's like he made it for me
As the scorched earth rejects the rain
And the saline begins to hurt

This silent desert scene screams things
Her mouth would never ever dare
Of hopeless hoping lost inside
Of a quiet, sincere, muffled prayer

I've fallen farther then I wish to admit
One burning failure, a flagrant hypocrite
And all this failing
Just to feel like I belong

He's been watching the road now
For the past couple months
Like an expectant child
His faith and the look in his eyes
Would drive a sane man wild
He says no storm last forever
it may seem that way while we're here
but hope lives is every corner, every minute in every tear

Reminding him how it was before
