Letra de Springtime
i wrote this on the equinox. it's about spring and suicide.

springtime, this is a song for you, it’s a welcome
winter, this is a lullaby so find your slumber soon
the almond trees are budding and we hope that it’s an omen
and it won’t snow like they say it will tonight

the birds stay up till four o’clock in the morning
you know they’ve been fallin’ out the sky more and more
some say that we are next and our time has come
but i just think of my friend kelley’s dead bird tattoo

you know i don’t have faith in many things
that is to say your coming is one of the few
and sometimes this hole seems bigger but i’ll climb out all the same
and sometimes you feel further away

winter hasn’t taken anyone i love this year
but you’ve got a knack for taking the stragglers
springtime i’m begging you to spare us this year
cuz i want all of my friends right here

back porches await our mingling and the garden, our compost
you are there to strike these with your arrow
to fill in the gaps between them a match made in the stars
the equinox, a love story of day and night
