This Is A Love Song
Well I can hide behind the clouds of metaphors that bring the storms of
my words but never seem to say anything that's positive.
And I can sing those similes that say 'You're like the cure to some
fatal disease that I've been living with all my life'.
But I've never been able to sing such
Happy Things
They always feel so asinine; like they're coated in saccharine
But for you I'll try.
So I just have to tell the microphone that I love you then I won't have
to wait to long before I'm singing you a love song.
I'll try out many combinations to see if it's set out so differently i
could say:
You're like a thousand Valentines
I listen for you every night and when I hear your keys knocking at the
door that's when I want you more
So I just have to tell the microphone that 'I Love You', then I won't
have to wait too long before I'm singing you a love song.

But I keep pushing you away though you're everything to me.
We keep fighting anyway yet you still keep me
And I just have to say I love you
Every time I try to say I need you more with every passing day the
words just get stuck in my mouth.
I swallow them down just like a sugar-coated pill but it makes me ill
and then I'm right back at the start.
Cause you don't need 'grand-gesturing': that's just posturing from
those who've got something to hide,
But to you I know I can not lie and
I just have to tell the microphone that I love you then I won't have to
wait too long before I'm singing you a love song.
I am singing you, I am singing...
