Well, Thomas had a day in mind
Kept it to himself but showed no signs Walking through the park, he knew it would be dark to walk away
And Grace, she had a time with words, saving all the things she'd read and heard
She sensed his grand proposal, and scared now I suppose
Thomas, starting over seemed, like all the fiction characters redeemed
And patience wasn't there, but he knew it was unfair to stay
