Run From Fire
run like you're on fire
towards the unlocked door
you'll break the glass in haste
but that's forgivable
burst into the air
the vaccuum taking care
of motion 'til you hit
the ground, so grit your teeth
set the house on fire when you leave
cos the things we've done nobody will believe
and it's better to cement this in our minds
than to let it die and leave it all behind
so cling like jonah to
the ribs of the mountainside
and haul yourself up by
the pads of your fingertips
the wind cuts through your skin
like scythes right to the quick
you'll shake it off like oil
and sigh and climb again
